“You spin me right round, baby
Right round round round”

A long time ago DANCE has found us. It has not left us ever since. Primal need drove us to move our bodies rhythmically. Dance created community. Community formed a circle. Circle witnessed the course of history. Primarily tribal dance connected us by the common purpose. With time, conflict of interest caused social stratification. Yet the idea of the danse macabre reminds us, that in the final dance we are all equal. The class, the status, the personal background, they all loose their meaning in the circle – hopeless dance side by side.

Today’s dance derives from community based idea of the tribal dance and the danse macabre’s inclusion. Looking back over our shoulder (I can see that look in your eye) we find primeval trance and equality. Even though we don’t dance in circles anymore, we create them. The circle became a part of a paradigm, not sole choreography.

Now dance appears as a shelter from inequalities and loneliness. We are so modern, yet urge to dance seems to have become primal again. Solution from the past turns out to be the most adequate to the present.

We have come full circle.
